Background

Rooted in the cabinetmaking heritage of Brianza, Northern Italy, spanning 1900–1940. North of Milan, Brianza was dotted with family‑run workshops for generations. Local Falegname, master cabinetmakers, spent hours bent over carving, sanding and crafting hand‑hewn furniture renowned all over Europe.

Their workwear was thoughtfully engineered: heavy canvas stood resilient against splinters, deep brown dye concealed fine wood dust, knee gussets enabled unrestricted kneeling and bending, and roll‑up cuffs protected against the danger of fabric catching on saws and planers.

This piece is not a direct reproduction of antique work pants, but a reinterpretation. Its core silhouette draws from original Brianza cabinetmaker workwear. The dual bellowed cargo pockets are adapted from late‑1930s European combat pants, re‑engineered to carry hand tools such as chisels, pencils, folding rulers and nails.

About 「SOUMOKU NISHOKU DYEING」

A special traditional hand-finished dyeing technique in Japanese craftsmanship, which involves using two different plant-based dyes to color fabrics or garment, resulting in a dual-tone effect. PLANT-DYEING MATERIAL

「GOBAISI-DYE」

"Gobaisi-Dyeing" is an ancient traditional Japanese dyeing technique. Its raw material, galla chinensis, is also a well - known ancient plant dye for dyeing black. This dyeing method offers several advantages such as natural and pure colors, strong antibacterial properties, and being healthy and safe. When dyeing, it usually results in a black color with a bluish - purple tint, which is very beautiful. Sometimes, it may even be regarded as dark purple or gray - blue

「SHIKON-DYE」
Japanese madder (Lithospermum erythrorhizon) is a perennial herbaceous plant, typically cultivated by dyehouse themselves. Dyehouse usually harvest the roots in advance and store them in burlap sacks. The dye for akanezome (Japanese madder dyeing) is extracted from these roots, with the entire process being largely handmade and extremely time-consuming. Interestingly, the older the madder roots, the more vibrant and effective the dyeing results become
